Wow. Today is Saturday. How did that happen?!?
I'm so sorry I haven't had much of a chance to update the blog over the last 48 hours, it has been pretty eventful. But in a good way! I'll give you a short break down of what things have been like and then I'm sure Tim and/or I will add more later.
First things first, THE SURGERY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
7 PM - Tim was awake! I couldn't see him yet, but they assured me that he was doing very well and there hadn't been any complications. They were going to take him for a CT scan and would let me know when he was back in the ICU.
8 PM (I think? Maybe it was closer to 7:30, but it's all kind of a blur.) - I got to see him! He looked SO miserable, but he cracked just the tiniest smile and I could tell he was super relieved to be awake and done with that part of it.
Wednesday night was rough, which made Thursday morning a bit of a blur. It seemed like Tim was in a lot of pain, but it seemed like a large portion of that was coming from the FIVE different IVs he still had in and the suuuper tight head bandages. He was able to drink a smoothie and get a bit of sleep in between the nurses checking on him every hour.
10:30 AM - The angiogram results confirmed that the AVM was completely removed in surgery!
12 PM - Tim's dad and stepmom came to stay with him while I went home to take a shower and get in a quick nap. I stepped outside and realized:
5 PM - Tim got a few solid hours of sleep and he was cleared to move out of the ICU and into recovery! I headed back to the hospital to meet up with them in his recovery room.
The rest of the evening and overnight in the recovery room was fantastic. Tim asked me to turn on The Office so he could feel like he was back at home. He mostly just slept as much as possible and took pain meds every four hours.

Wednesday (after surgery)
6 PM - One of the surgeons came to the waiting room to let us know that surgery was done, everything had gone great, and they believed that they had removed all of the AVM. They were taking care of all of the post-surgery work and planning to bring him out of anesthesia.
